Day 1 - Eat Whole FoodHello Diva,
Thank you for stopping by to see my short video and description on why you should be focusing on whole food for weight loss! Watch my video to learn about what to avoid when weight loss is your goal.
So let's recap. What I need you to avoid at all costs include but are not limited to is:
- Fast Food
- Processed Food
- Food That Comes In a Box
- Food That Has a Lot Of Ingredients (especially ingredients you cannot readily identify
- Food From a Vending Machine/Convenience Store
- Artificial Sweeteners
- Synthetic Trans Fats
- Artificial Flavors
- Monosodium Glutamate(MSG)
- Artificial Colors
- High-Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS)
Now I know what your thinking, "But Tiffany... who has the time to remember a list like this, much less take the time to assess all of the food they would eat?" Nobody does! Which is exactly why I do not expect you too.
What I would like for you to do is identify the common theme that occurs throughout my list. Food that is man made, processed or artificial, very convenient, and includes an exhaustive ingredient list with ingredients name you can't pronounce will contribute to weight gain or weight loss resistance.
Which means the foods that you are consuming are nature made or come straight out of the ground, has little to absolutely nothing added by man (broccoli has no ingredient list), and EXPIRES! Food is not supposed to last a very long time (have you ever seen an expiration date on a twinkie?).
I save the specifics for how and why this happens but for now, please believe me when I say ANYTHING and EVERYTHING your body cannot readily break down and use for energy will make you and keep you overweight and unhappy. Weight gain was once a survival mechanism that we as humans used to survive famine. Therefore we would eat as much as we could during times of feast and then tap into our stored fat during times of famine. Nowadays however, our weight gain is due to the hormonal imbalance caused by everything I listed above when consumed by the body (not mentioning the addictive properties that these food have as well).
So what is a Diva to do? Everything you and your family is going to eat will:
- 1) Come from the outer lanes of the grocery store.
- 2) Simply not come with a nutrition label or have ingredients you can recognize.
- 3) Exclude ANYTHING man made (i.e artificial, synthetic, etc.)
